Know this: that fear corrupts the soul more than any sin alone.
For fear conducts unto wrath and to panic, and these lead to rash deeds and fury sparked by mere shadows. By fear does one leap from reason to madness and lays hold upon baseless condemnations and half-formed plans in a wild bid for some notion of stability.
Fear seeks therefore whatsoever power may be found in arm’s length. Cheap tricks and low-hanging fruit are its desires, for they are in easy reach, and it is too frantic to look beyond to the results of its deeds. For this reason is fear so very deadly to the soul, for it casts all aside in its bid for malformed and oft misdirected might.
It is for fear that people will forget the pain and terror of the dying as they hold to whatever stability they have ascribed to mere things. It is for fear that people will interpret foreign notions as demonic evils, for they are loath to disrupt whatever equilibrium they have found with their heads in the sand. It is for fear that people will regard hard words as acts of violence and respond in kind. It is for fear that people will seek vengeance against every misdeed with no regard for how that vengeance may sow more of the same. As the beetle rolls dung and enlarges it thereby, so shall that vengeance roll forth to fill the earth.
Heed no doctrine of fear, for fear will corrupt your soul. Fear cares not for humanity. Fear cares only for seeking equilibrium, even if it comes at the cost of others.
Heed no doctrine of fear, and so starve it out.
In its stead, sow peace.
It is for this reason that you should stop doomscrolling and take a treat to your neighbor or something.
